About Long Creek Falls

Long Creek Falls combines two of Georgia's greatest outdoor experiences: the Appalachian Trail and a beautiful 50-foot waterfall. Located just off the AT approach corridor near Suches in Union County, the falls tumble in a wide spread over a tiered granite face into a clear pool. The area is beloved by both thru-hikers heading for Springer Mountain and day hikers exploring the north Georgia mountains.

The trail to Long Creek Falls follows a gentle forest path through mixed hardwood and pine forest typical of the Georgia Blue Ridge foothills. The approach is easy enough for families with older children, and the waterfall payoff — a graceful 50-foot spread over gray granite — is more than worth the short effort.
