Narada Falls: A Classic Mount Rainier Roadside Waterfall
Mount Rainier National Park, Pierce County
About Narada Falls
Narada Falls is one of Mount Rainier National Park's most accessible and dramatic natural features — a 188-foot plunge of the Paradise River over a basalt ledge just steps from a roadside pullout on the Paradise Road. The falls are surrounded by old-growth Pacific silver fir and the dark volcanic rock of the Rainier massif above.
The mist from the falls is intense, and in late summer and fall, wildflower meadows below the viewing area add color to the scene. The falls are most powerful in June and July when snowmelt from the Paradise snowfields above is at peak flow. In late winter the cliff face builds dramatic ice formations visible from the road.
