The Elephant Rocks Braille Trail is one of Missouri's most accessible natural wonders, winding through a stunning collection of massive pink granite boulders formed 1.5 billion years ago. The largest boulders reach 27 feet tall and weigh up to 680 tons. Interpretive signage in both print and Braille describes the geology and quarry history of the site, which supplied granite for the 1874 Eads Bridge in St. Louis. Between the boulders, hikers pass through narrow squeeze passages barely wide enough for adults, adding adventure to the accessible format.
