Meramec State Park contains 40 caves within its boundaries - more than any other state park in the United States. The Cave Hollow Trail accesses the park's cave system while traversing the wooded bluffs above the Meramec River. Fisher Cave offers guided lantern tours that pass through rooms decorated with stalactites and flowstone formations. The river below provides excellent smallmouth bass fishing and canoe access through the Ozark border terrain.
