The White Domes Loop is a compact but richly varied hike in the northern section of Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada. Beginning at the White Domes parking area, this 1.25-mile loop packs an impressive array of geological features into a short distance, making it one of the most rewarding trails in the park relative to its length.

The trail descends through a narrow, winding slot canyon carved into brilliantly colored Aztec Sandstone, where hikers pass between walls of red, white, and pink rock that glow with intensity in the desert light. Emerging from the slot canyon, the route passes the ruins of a movie set used during the filming of a 1966 classic Hollywood production, lending an eerie, cinematic quality to the already otherworldly surroundings.

The loop continues through open desert terrain past towering white sandstone domes and red rock formations before returning to the trailhead. With 200 feet of elevation gain and a mix of sandy and slickrock surfaces, the trail is accessible to most hikers, though the slot canyon section requires some scrambling. The $15 per vehicle park entry fee applies. Shade is minimal, so early morning starts are recommended, especially in warmer months. Dogs are not permitted on this trail.
