Stewart Falls: A Stunning Wasatch Waterfall Above Sundance Resort
Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Utah County
About Stewart Falls
Stewart Falls is the premier waterfall destination on the slopes of Mount Timpanogos, dropping 200 feet in two dramatic tiers down the mountain's south face above Sundance Resort in Utah County. The falls are visible from the highway on clear days, but the trail to their base delivers a close-up of the full cascade that the roadside view cannot match.
The trail begins at the Sundance Resort parking area and climbs steadily through aspen groves and conifer forest. Aspens turn brilliant gold in early October, making the fall version of this hike a classic Utah autumn experience. The Mount Timpanogos Wilderness surrounding the falls is one of the most spectacular backcountry landscapes in the entire Wasatch Range.
