Toketee Falls: The Most Beautiful Waterfall in the Umpqua National Forest
Umpqua National Forest, Douglas County
About Toketee Falls
Toketee Falls is widely considered the most beautiful waterfall in the Umpqua National Forest — and for good reason. The North Umpqua River pours 113 feet through a perfectly symmetrical two-tier drop framed by fluted basalt columns, creating a waterfall that looks more like a carefully designed fountain than a natural feature. The name 'Toketee' comes from the Chinook word for 'graceful.'
The short trail descends from the trailhead through Douglas fir forest to a wooden viewing platform perfectly positioned at eye level with the falls. The basalt column geology is stunning — hexagonal columns formed by ancient lava flows are exposed in the canyon walls on all sides of the falls. This is one of Oregon's most photographed natural features.

Trail Description
